The following is an excerpt from page 3 of the newspaper, St. Paul Recorder, published on April 19, 1960:
Mrs. Louis Cason, 1235 Thomas Av., pioneer residents of St. Paul, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, May 1. Because of Mr. Cason’s illness, the celebration planned to mark this date, had to be postponed. Lucy Brockman and Louis Cason were married in St. Paul. Sunday, May 1, 1910 by the late Dr. J. M. Boddy. The present home in which they reside was built by Mr. Cason and was located in what was then called Hamline. The young couple set up housekeeping in their new home. They have two children, Mrs. Bemette Cason Shivers and Dr. Louis Cason, a chemist, and one grandson, Marvin David Shivers, all of St. Paul. Congratulations and greetings to a wonderful couple.
