Scope and Contents

Includes three stapled packet containing the historical lot information of the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center at 270 N. Kent. Packet contains typed and handwritten notation on legal-size paper with embossed seals. And excerpt from the first page describes the land as follows:

The south 65 feet of lots 29 and 30, and the south 65 feet of the east 9 1/2 feet of lot 28, Block 25, Mackubin and Marshall addition to St. Paul.

Land information includes general description, taxation, possession, and, in some cases, bankruptcy forfeiture.

Biographical / Historical

This parcel of land was gifted from the United States to William Noot on June 5, 1851. William Noot was a member of the Democratic Party during the Civil War and translated Minnesota Governor Ramsey's first message into German.
