High school diploma reads as follows:
The county superintendent of education and the President of the county board of education have also signed the diploma, with illegible signatures.Jefferson County Public Schools. The State of Alabama.
James Taylor Jr. having satisfactorily completed the Prescribed Course of Study in conformity with the requirements and standards set up by the State Board of Education for Accredited High Schools in Alabama, is awarded this Diploma by the Powderly High School.
In Testimony Whereof, we have hereunto affixed our signatures, by reason of the Authority vested in us by the laws of the State of Alabama and the Regulations of the State Board of Education, this 29 day of April A.D. 1938.
