Scope and Contents
Alphonso Wallace Haynes is a distant cousin of James L. Taylor. During June of 2010, he emailed Lannie multiple times and sent him letters in the mail regarding their shared family heritage.
The first letter is four single-sided pages containing a typed letter from Alphonso Haynes, cousin to James L. Taylor, regarding family geneaology. Notably, Alphonso writes that he has found the WWI draft registration papers of James Edgar Murphy
The second letter is one single sided letter from Alphonso describing an attatched photograph of him and his family members.
The third letter is seven single-sided pages containing a family geneaology tree graphic starting with Reuben Wallace, born in 1790 and Nancy Minne Wallace, born in 1799.
The fourth letter is four single-sided pages detailing the death of Richard Murphy in 1880 and the furneral service of Harriet Murphy.The fifth letter is one page, expressing Alphonso's luck in meeting "Uncle Richard" and visiting St. Paul, as well as copies of census documents.

From the Collection: 27.93 Linear Feet (29 containers) : The collection is contained within 15 letter-size document boxes; 2 clamshell boxes,;14 flat file folders of various, custom sizes; and one Rollicord camera in a brown leather case. The collection contains mostly photographic materials, with some other graphic materials such as pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and written correspondence.
