Letter written on lined paper reads:

Dear Miss Brown, I am sorry that the children can not be back to school in a couple day [sic] yet. They still have cold and it will be better for them to stay home. [They'd] planned a party for Joan for today but will have it when she comes back as she is anxious to have the children sing Happy Birthday for her. Call if you want to [illegible] anything. Mrs. Zien.

From the Collection: 1.52 Linear Feet ((1 container) Unbound scrapbook made of paper and cardboard contains newspaper clippings, correspondence and black and white photographs.) : Original order for this scrapbook has been mostly destroyed. Scrapbook has been unbound and the majority of the pictures and papers glued to its pages have been separated, leaving only handwritten annotations to suggest what was once on each page. Few materials, including photographs, remain on the pages they were originally adhered to. ; varied.
