"Fourth Annual Picnic: St. Philips Episcopal Mission", August 1897
Scope and Contents
Paper invitation to an annual picnic has been mounted to a cardboard base. The invitation reads as follows:
Fourth Annual Picnic. St. Philips' Episcopal Mission. Yourself and friends are invited to join St. Philips' Congregation at their Fourth Annual Picnic, Thursday, August 12, 1897 at Spring Park, Lake Minnetonka.
The beauties and attractions of this favorite resort are so well known that but little need be said further than there will be no pains spared to make the day an enjoyable one.
The sports will consist of a hurdle race, potato race, sack race and a professional game of base ball [sic]. Good music.
Tickets are limited. The committee on order is authorized to refuse to sell tickets to anyone not agreeable. Tickets must be purchased before August 12. Money refunded for tickets not used if presented on or before August 17, 1897.
Trains leave Union Depots as follows [...]
Tickets, round trip. Adults, 60 cents; children under twelve, 30 cents. Tickets may be purchased of committees. Minneapolis Committee [is as follows] C.E. James, John Allison. St. Paul Committee [is as follows] J.B. Taylor, J.H. Vincent, W.J. Uttley, C.M. Tibbs.

The collection contains mostly photographic materials, with some other graphic materials such as pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and written correspondence.
