Biographical / Historical
Anita Tucker was one of the first Black women to receive a doctoral degree in the state of Minnesota. She received a Ph.D in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota and later went on to become a tenured professor. Anita's husband was also an educator, working for many years as a teacher in Minneapolis School District. They had resided at 989 Rondo Ave., with their daughter, Pamela Tucker-Coaxum, whow herself was a regular at Hallie Q. Brown Community House and Center.
