Scope and Contents

Letter addressed to "Mr. Guinevere P. Kelly" from the Minnesota Department of Highways. An excerpt reads as follows:

Dear Sir, Kindly be advised that Commissioners J.J. Kenna, David Marsden, James Huspek Jr., appointed by the District Court to appraise the damages created by the State of Minnesota acquiring a portion of your property for highway purposes, will meet on Friday, November 22, 1957 at 4:00 o'clock [...]
You are further advised that this meeting will be your opportunity to meet with these commissioners and express your ideas as to the extent and amount of damages to your property.
The commissioners will assume, in case you do not appear or notify them otherwise, that it is your desire for them to proceed in making their awards for damages without contacting you again.

There are several creases and minor tears in the paper, along with a few handwritten notes in the margins and on the backside of the letter.
