Summit University Senior Outreach and Advocacy Program, circa 1980
Scope and Contents
An excerpt from the pamphlet reads:
Summit-Univeristy Senior Outreach and Advocacy Program is an organization that concentrates on outreach to and advocacy for senior citizens living in the Summit-University area. SU-SOAP does not provide services, but assists the isolated seniors in obtaining services of agencies involved in meeting medical, legal, economical, and social needs for senior citizens. [...] The program reaches out to the isolated seniors by volunteers and staff seeking them out in their homes, apartments, and even in nursing homes. Sometimes they are found walking aimlessly down the street.
