During the Winter Carnival Hallie Q. Brown Golden Agers were represented by their queen, Mrs. Dolly Marie Chilgren, who was a special guest at a dinner given by the director, Mrs. John M. Patton, at Holiday Inn in St. Paul. Mrs. Thelma Mayes and Mrs. Laura Shannon were dinner guests in recognition for securing the most members during 1972.

The check of one-hundred dollars was presented to her by the Senior Citizens Assembly, a larger downtown group. The plaque which Mrs. Patton received was presented by the Board of the Hallie Q. Brown.
